|
| What is
covered by the price? |
| Food, bedding,
GST, exercise and care is all included in the cost. However we
are happy for you to bring any toys or bedding etc that you
think will comfort your pet/s during separation |
| What do
you feed the animals? |
| Within reason we feed your pets either what you
feed them at home or something very close to it. We can take and
freeze/refrigerate food for special diets if you bring it with
you. Please note that providing your own food may not reduce the
cost of boarding as it requires us to act outside our normal
care routines.
We provide a selection of most popular canned and dry foods,
including puppy foods. |
| Will my
dog stay in the kennel all day? |
Dogs are taken out daily.
these outings will involve either an on-leash walk in the
paddock or a free run in the
enclosed yard (not with other dogs unless permitted by the
owners) |
| What
vaccinations does my pet need to have? |
| Dogs need a minimum C3 shot for Parvo, Hepatitus
and Distemper. C5 Vaccination which includes Canine (Kennel) Cough is
highly recommended
Cats need a minimum F4 shot. We also recommend your cat is
protected against worms with regular treatment at home before
entering a cat boarding environment. |
| Does my
pet need a flea collar? |
| Fleas are not common in Alice Springs due to the
dry climate. There are ticks however and we recommend use of a
regular prevention medication (eg Frontline) and/or a good
quality tick collar (eg Preventic) to help to control these
beasties, particularly during the spring and summer months. The
ticks are NOT paralysis ticks but can cause problems if an
infestation develops. |
| Are there
extra charges for administering medications? |
| If your dog or cat needs to take pills or other
medication we are happy to do this as part of the service
provided the administration does not need the assistance of a
vet or vet assistant. If such IS required, or the treatment
involves work outside normal hours the cost must be borne by you, the owner,
with payment arranged in advance.
Standard daily medications such as heartworm must be brought
with your pet. |
| Will my
cat have its own pen? |
| Cats do not mix outside their own family. Each cat
pen is set up as an individual environment. There are mesh gates
in some places which may allow brief contact with other cats
however the main pens are separated by solid partitions |
| Is there a
weekly rate available? |
| There are no discounts for duration unless the
visit is 21 days or more. This is available unless the maximum
discount has already been offered. During peak periods
(June-July and
December-January school holidays for example) the discount is
not available. |
| May I
visit my pets if I am in town during their stay? |
| Visiting cats is no problem at all during normal
operating hours (8am-10am & 3-5pm every day).
Whilst it is fine for owners to visit dogs we do not
encourage visits to dogs while they are at Rangeview as we find
the dogs are often upset when the visit is over and the owner
leaves them behind! Visiting hours are the same as for the cats
(above) however the ideal time for a visit is during exercise
periods in the morning. |
